I have a ‘thing’ for log cabins. When my September issue of “Log Home Living” arrived in my mailbox, I couldn’t wait to sit down and thumb threw it. I work in the building industry, so naturally I’m interested in anything ‘building’, and one article quickly caught my eye. “New & Improved – Don’t ask a 19th century builder to build you a 21st-century log home”.

The article contains was a list of items to look for when looking for a builder for your log home. Item number seven is to look for a builder that belongs to professional organizations. “The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is the principle trade organization for builders in the United States, with chapters in many communities,” the article states. It continues with, “NAHB has extensive research and training programs aimed at improving home quality and affordability. A good way to launch a search for builders, subcontractors and suppliers is by contacting the nearest home-builders association.”

That’s us! We are the local professionals when it comes to builders, subcontractors, and other building or remodeling professionals! All members of the Rochester Home Builders’ Association (RHBA) are also members of NAHB. They are also members of the New York State Builders Association (NYSBA). Our members are fortunate that they have access to information and training from all three branches of the federation.

You can learn more about our members and the three branches of membership at these three website:
