Rochester Home Builders’ Association (RHBA)
Founded in 1934, the Rochester Home Builders’ Association is one of the original eight associations that established the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C.
Today, RHBA is one of the most active of New York’s 16 chapters, representing hundreds of members, including:
- Home builders & remodelers
- General contractors & tradespeople
- Suppliers & lending institutions
- Businesses that support the building and remodeling industries
Through RHBA, businesses gain access to training, networking, and advocacy, while strengthening the local building community.
Community Impact: RHBA also operates the Construction Industry Foundation (CIF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides scholarships for students entering the residential construction field and educational resources for the public.
Upstate Building Industry Alliance (UBIA)
The UBIA was created to serve smaller businesses—those with fewer than 10 employees or those doing less than 20% of their work in new construction.
UBIA members enjoy the same benefits as RHBA members, including:

- Networking with peers across the construction spectrum
Together, RHBA and UBIA provide a strong foundation for businesses of all sizes.
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
The NAHB is the nation’s largest network of builders, innovators, and problem-solvers dedicated to strengthening communities. With more than 600 chapters nationwide, NAHB provides members with:

- Networking – Connections with peers and industry leaders
- Expertise – Access to industry experts and solutions

New York State Builders Association (NYSBA)
Founded in 1951, the NYSBA works in partnership with its 14 local affiliates and NAHB to represent the building industry across New York State.
At the state level, NYSBA ensures a strong business environment and advocates for the ability of members to provide quality housing for every New Yorker.
Together, RHBA, UBIA, NYSBA, and NAHB form a powerful alliance—the voice of the building industry, from Rochester to Washington, D.C.

How the Construction Industry Foundation (CIF) supports the growth and development of a skilled workforce in the Residential Building and Construction Industry.
$1,000 Continuing Education Scholarship
$1,000 Scholarship for those continuing their education after high school in a field related to Residential Building and Construction
$750 School to Work “Toolbox” Scholarship
$750 School-to-Work ‘Toolbox’ Scholarship for those going directly from high school to the workforce in a field related to residential building and construction.
